Emerald Cave
If you are on the island, don’t forget to visit the Emerald Cave popularly referred to as Tham Morakot. This cool sea cave is only accessible at low tide and leads to a secret lagoon filled with the emerald waters that will amaze anyone. It is an adventure in itself going through the tunnel swimming in near darkness and finally ending up at this awe-inspiring place that welcomes visitors like it does exit fees of 400 THB aside from being very affordable.
Snorkelers and scuba divers find great solace in these reefs for they offer a chance to come up close with the island’s sea creatures. These coral gardens are open to all without paying any fee; thus, one can dive at their own pace.
The two beaches are on opposite sides of the island, separated by a couple of miles along a quiet, winding road through the jungle. One morning, we decided to walk there.
November to April is an ideal period for visiting Koh Muk, when the waters are tranquil and skies cloudless. The island can be reached by boat or yacht from either Trang or Krabi, making it a convenient place for tourists. Koh Mook has streets and motorized transportation.
